Senior Health- Move & Groove In-Person

Join us for this 4-part series focused on health topics for Seniors. This series is presented by the Tarrant County Public Health Department. Come to just one of them or all of them. 

August 14- Osteoporosis- This class is intended for those at risk for developing this major health problem. Learn the symptoms and risk factors for bone loss, and things you can do to delay or prevent it from developing.

August 28- Move & Groove- Provides fun, creative ways to incorporate more physical activity and exercise into your day and the many physical and mental health benefits. Also, provides the components of a balanced exercise program and examples of each. Participation in activities is optional, and all ages are welcome.

September 11- Heart Health Awareness-This class provides the factors and conditions that affect the heart, such as blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, tobacco use and more. Also provides important information related to heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke. This session will include Blood Pressure Screenings.

September 25- Nutrition: Label Reading- Can you look at a Nutrition Facts label and know if you are getting too much fat, sodium, or sugar from the pre-packaged foods that you eat? If not, this class is perfect for you. This class will review how to read a Nutrition Facts label to help with food choices, portion control and chronic disease prevention and management.
