Paws to Read: Children's Book Week In-Person

Practice reading aloud with a canine friend! Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs is partnering with the Arlington Public Library to bring dogs for children to read with. Reading to dogs helps young readers improve their skills in a relaxed, friendly environment. Bring your own book or borrow one of ours.

Interested in attending? There will be in-person sign-ups to read with the therapy dogs before the program begins. Interested families will receive a number based on the order they arrive and time slots will be confirmed once all dogs are present. Each family can sign up for a 10-minute slot. Space is limited to the number of dogs available. If time allows, families may sign up for another slot.

This program is for ages 5 - 12 only. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (817) 459-6900 or by email at LIBYouthServices@arlingtontx.gov.

Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs is a local group, comprised of  Alliance of Therapy Dogs, our national organization, members. They are a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer organization that services the DFW area with therapy dogs.
