Spooktober Family Carnival In-Person
Celebrate the spooky season with friends and family at the Southwest Branch of the Arlington Public Library! Enjoy a spook-tacular storytime and dress up in your best costume to wow others during the Costume Contest in the individual and family categories. There will be plenty of music, crafts, activities, and opportunities to fill your arms with sweet treats!
The storytime will start at 6:00pm and the winner of the door prize will be announced at 7:00pm.
The Costume Contest will be split into categories by age, with one designated for families with group costumes. Early Learning & School Age will be at 6:15pm. Family will be at 6:30pm. Tween & Teen will be at 6:45pm. Participants may enter both as an individual in their age range and with family in the Family category. Prizes awarded will be age appropriate for each category.
Costume Guidelines
- No weapons of any kind may be part of the costume. This includes foam swords and plastic throwing stars.
- At no point during the event will APL assume responsibility for costume components. Costume props and accessories are the responsibility of the wearer and their adult.
- Costume components may not impede the flow of event traffic or another patron's experience at the event. (e.g., large wings, trailing capes)
- Any patron wearing a costume that displays hateful or discriminatory language will not be eligible for a prize.
