AISD Summer Meals In-Person
This summer, Arlington ISD is connecting children 18 and younger, along with enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old, with healthy, no-cost summer meals. For children who rely on school meals during the academic year, these meals offer a source of good nutrition when school is out for the long summer vacation.
Lunch will be served Monday through Friday at the East Library and Recreation Center and the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library from June 2nd through August 5th (closed on 6/19 and 7/4 due to holidays). All children are invited to come grab a meal and enjoy it onsite. You do not need to be enrolled in AISD to participate.
All meals must be handed out to a child 18 or younger, or an enrolled student with disabilities up to 21 years old. Food must be consumed onsite in the designated area.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered in Texas by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). Arlington ISD is one of the nonprofit organizations partnering with TDA to serve meals across Texas. Families are encouraged to use these three tools to find a meal site anywhere in the state:
- Call 2-1-1 to speak to a live operator
- Visit SummerFood.org for an interactive site locator map
- Text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304
