Authors in Arlington: Kari Lavelle and Lindsay Leslie In-Person

The Arlington Public Library is proud to present Authors in Arlington, a new program focused on connecting the community with popular and influential authors. We are happy to host authors Kari Lavelle and Lindsay Leslie in "Battle of the Genres: Fiction vs Nonfiction." Kari Lavelle is the award-winngin author of the ever popular series Butt or Face?, We Move the World, and Ode to Grapefruit: How James Earl Jones Found his Voice. Lindsay Leslie is the author of This Book is SpinelessNova the Star Eater, Dusk Explorers, and So You Want to Build a Library. Both authors love working and writing for children and have found their voice in their picture book.

Please join us for this special event that pits Fiction and Nonfiction against each other. Learn more about the genres, how they differ, and how both Kari Lavelle and Lindsay Leslie found their voice in writing for their respective genres. Afterwards we will have a moderated Q&A session as well a book signing for those who would like to have their books signed. This event is perfect for children 5 and up.

This program is free and open to the public, no registration required, however space is limited. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at (817) 459-6900 or by email at LIBYouthServices@arlingtontx.gov.

This program is made possible by a grant from The Institute of Museum and Library Services and The Texas State Libray and Archives Commission. Thank you to the Friends and Foundation for the Arlington Public Library for their generous support of our programming.
