HSE/GED Registration In-Person

**Please note: The registration starts at 10:00 am and will last about 3 hours.  Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the registration to allow time to sign in.**  

The Arlington Public Library in conjunction with Texas Workforce Solutions offers free HSE classes for adult residents of Tarrant County.  Our classes prepare students for four tests required for the General Educational Development (GED) Certificate. At the registration, you will fill out intake forms and take a placement exam. We only offer classes in English and are in-person classes.  We have a limited number of spots available, so a reservation is required.  

To join our program, you must:

  • Be a Tarrant County resident  ·        
  • Be over 19 years of age (18 and under must provide withdraw paperwork from school, age 16 must provide a court order) ·       
  • Provide an unexpired form of photo identification such as a state-issued ID, Driver's license, passport, other official documents issued by a foreign government agency (consular card, etc.), or birth certificate with accompanying photo ID
  • Provide your social security card. ·        
  • Know the password to your email account (You will need to sign into your account for part of the registration)** ·        
  • Commit to 8 hours per week of instruction   ·        
  • Dedicate time to working on Essential Ed modules and tests   ·        
  • Be willing to put in the effort and demonstrate progress   ·        
  • Be ready to complete your goals!
